Alfred Nobel was a Swedish chemist, engineer, inventor, businessman, and philanthropist. He held 355 different patents, dynamite being the most famous. We now associate Nobel with international prizes for peace, science, and literature, but during his life, he was dubbed the “angel of death” by the press and his explosive success seems to have led to regrets. His varied interests are reflected in the prize he established and which he lay the foundation for in 1895 when he wrote his last will, leaving much of his wealth to the establishment of the Nobel prize: a set of annual international awards bestowed in several categories by Swedish and Norwegian institutions in recognition of academic, cultural, or scientific advances. Copyright 1939. Opening titles: MGM Presents The Story Of Alfred Nobel (:06-:16). Sweden. Signs read: Swedish Academy of Literature, Alfred Nobel, Swedish Academy of Science, Alfred Nobel, etc. Actor portraying Alfred Nobel sits writing. 1866, Nobel does a chemistry experiment. He uses nitroglycerine (:17-1:27). Nobel tries to combine it with different substances but it isn't working. He drops some of the nitroglycerine into powder and creates dynamite. A fuse is lit and dynamite explodes. Nobel watches explosions. A train goes into a tunnel. Logs are dynamited. Nobel removes his hat and people shake his hand. Newspaper headlines (1:28-3:08). A medal for Nobel from France. A woman in black, she is mourning, approaches Nobel as he goes down the stairs. Nobel agrees to meet her son at a hospital. He enters and looks around at injured men. The woman hands a medal to Nobel (3:09-5:08). Nobel enters a room to see her son. Nobel hands the medal to the son who is horribly maimed and disfigured. Nobel doesn't understand why the woman wanted him to see until she explains it was due to war - and due to dynamite. Nobel didn't create dynamite for war (5:09-6:48). Nobel works on new experiments. Newspaper headlines. Nobel is shocked by all the war. He speaks to people at a dinner. He is having heart problems and he finally collapses. Newspaper headline (6:49-7:58). Nobel is tended by a doctor. He sits by a fire. Nobel closes the window and stands. Nobel turns on a light. Planes in the air, bombs dropped, explosions and fires. Nobel decides to leave his wealth to a good cause, the cause of peace. Planes in the air (7:59-10:11). End credits (10:12-10:23). नोबेल पुरस्कार के पीछे का व्यक्ति - डायनामाइट के आविष्कारक अल्फ्रेड नोबेल In 1888, the death of his brother Ludvig caused several newspapers to publish obituaries of Alfred in error. One French newspaper condemned him for his invention of military explosives—not, as is commonly quoted, dynamite, which was mainly used for civilian applications—and is said to have brought about his decision to leave a better legacy after his death. The obituary stated, "The merchant of death is dead" and went on to say, "Dr. Alfred Nobel, who became rich by finding ways to kill more people faster than ever before, died yesterday. Nobel read the obituary and was appalled at the idea that he would be remembered in this way. His decision to posthumously donate the majority of his wealth to found the Nobel Prize has been credited at least in part to him wanting to leave behind a better legacy. So This short is first one of its series and total 10 videos are on the way. - Attributes: By Photograph: JonathunderMedal: Erik Lindberg (1873-1966) - Derivative of File:NobelPrize.JPG, PD-US, 🤍

Alfred Bernhard Nobel was born on October 21, 1833, in Stockholm, and was one of the eight children born to Immanuel Nobel, an engineer and inventor, and Karolina Andriette Nobel. Alfred who was sickly as a child enjoyed a close relationship with his mother, and was also an intelligent, lively, and curious child from an early age. Alfred developed a love for engineering like his father, with a particular interest in explosives, the basic principles of which he learned from his father who was an Alumnus of the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The older Nobel moved to St. Petersburg in 1837 with his family after a series of business failures, but in St. Petersburg he became a successful manufacturer of machine tools and explosives. With his newfound prosperity, he was able to send his son Nobel to private tutors from 1841 to 1842, who taught him in Chemistry, and various languages, all of which Nobel excelled in, with a fluency in English, German, French, and Russian.

Born in Stockholm, Alfred Nobel was the third son of Immanuel Nobel (1801–1872), an inventor and engineer, and Carolina Andriette (Ahlsell) Nobel (1805–1889). [4] The couple married in 1827 and had eight children. The family was impoverished, and only Alfred and his three brothers survived past childhood. Through his father, Alfred Nobel was a descendant of the Swedish scientist Olaus Rudbeck (1630–1702), and in his turn the boy was interested in engineering, particularly explosives, learning the basic principles from his father at a young age. Alfred Nobel's interest in technology was inherited from his father, an alumnus of Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.. লাইক,কমেন্ট এবং শেয়ার করুন আপনার বন্ধুদের । প্লিজ Subscribe করতে ভুলবেন না..... ►Dont forget to Like , Comment and Subscribe ►Thank you for Watching this Video.....

Alfred Nobel Alfred Nobel, founder of the well-known Nobel Prizes, was an excellent student in his childhood. 'That's it. Nitroglycerine!' One day Nobel shouted suddenly during his research. He thought of highly explosive nitroglycerine, which he had heard about from Professor Cynin perviously. Nobel's invention was used at mines and for construction of roads. His father thought highly of Nobel. But nitroglycerine was very dangerous. It exploded when it was managed even a little carelessly. One day Nobel's sister Emil lost her life when a bomb exploded in the laboratory. Nobel was very sad over her death. When the danger of explosives became known, people began to criticize Nobel. "There must not be a factory of such dreadful explosives in the middle of the city." At last Nobel set up a new factory on a ship floating in the middle of a lake. But the accidents of explosion did not cease. Nobel often consulted with his father about problems, but when his father had died of an apoplectic stroke, he was in great distress. 'Ah! What can I do to keep explosives safe?' Nobel continued his researches in his laboratory. At last he successfully invented a new explosive called dynamite. He conducted an open experiment with dynamite in Germany and get its stability and explosive power recognized. Nobel earned a lot of money through dynamite. But he was deeply distressed by the thought that the explosives he had made could be weapons that would kill people. He thought about what was the way that would lead to world peace. "I think it is my happiness to be helpful to an honest and sincere man when he gets tired while fight poverty." As he had said this, Nobel helped many needy people. But he became very weak when he was 63 years old in 1896. "Please use my money to award prizes to those who contributed to world peace each year." Nobel made this will before he died. In accordance with his will, each year Nobel prizes have been awarded to those who contributed to physics, chemistry, biology, literature and peace. Nobel put into practice the idea of studying for the sake of people's happiness he had heard from his Russian language teacher when he was a young boy. His name has been remembered up to now through Nobel Prizes.

Alfred Nobel and the Irony of the Nobel Peace Prize Many of you may have heard of the Nobel Prize, but do you know where the name comes from and the history of the award? Alfred Nobel was a Swedish engineer, chemist and inventor, who, by the time he died in 1896, had 355 inventions attributed to his name. Most of those inventions were those of an out and out pacifist and not what one would associate with someone who had a vision of the importance of peace. During his time working at the family engineering works in Northern Germany, Alfred Nobel was responsible for the acquisition of the Bofors iron and steel mill, after which he became a major armaments manufacturer. Bofors was to become a name synonymous with the 40mm Bofors anti-aircraft gun that became widespread during the Second World War, used both on land and also onboard naval ships. One of Nobel’s inventions was ballistite, a smokeless military explosive similar to cordite that was used as a shell propellant. He also became heavily involved with another military explosive, cordite, though this led to major law case over his infringement of cordite’s patent. However, the invention that Nobel became best known for was dynamite, the first stable form of nitro-glycerine. For many years, nitro-glycerine, a liquid, was used for blasting, but it had one major problem. It was highly unstable and could be ignited purely by vibration, which resulted in many unfortunate accidents. The company’s almost obsession with explosives ultimately cost Albert Nobel’s brother, Ludwig, his life in an explosion at the German factory, which provided a remarkable twist of fate. The reporters mistakenly thought it was Alfred Nobel who had been killed in the explosion and Alfred was shocked to see his own obituary appear in the paper eight years earlier than it should have been. He was even more shocked when he read the headline: The merchant of death is dead in a French newspaper. So disconcerted about how he would be remembered when he was dead, Albert Nobel decided to change his will, several times, the last time just one year before he died in San Remo, Italy, in 1896. In this final will, Nobel decided to leave 94% of his total assets to be used to create a series of prizes for those who confer the "greatest benefit on mankind" in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, and peace. Clearly Nobel died a wealthy man as since then, the Nobel Prize for any of those five categories, plus Economics Sciences which was introduced in 1968, has been awarded 603 times and prize money given with the award has always come from the original Nobel Foundation fund. Today, winners of the Nobel Prize today get 10 million Swedish kroner, which is approximately one million pounds.

(BR 2011) VON: Gregor Hoppe 🤍
