Wij zochten uit hoe we het biedingssysteem van LinkedIn konden “hacken”, om véél meer uit ons advertentiebudget te halen. In deze aflevering van Smart Lab leg ik je stap voor stap uit wat we hebben gedaan om de CTR wel vijf (!) keer hoger dan het gemiddelde te krijgen. Oesterdam is een schitterend resort in Zeeland, met zowel vakantievilla’s als zakelijke arrangementen. Denk aan bedrijfsfeesten, vergaderruimtes, enzovoorts. Om de zakelijke propositie onder de aandacht te brengen, zijn we aan de slag gegaan met LinkedIn: hét social media kanaal voor de B2B. De CTR op LinkedIn ligt over het algemeen niet zo hoog: gemiddeld zo’n 0,35%. Ons doel is natuurlijk om daar zo ver mogelijk boven te zitten. Dat is gelukt: één van onze campagnes haalde zelfs een CTR van 1,9%! Ik ga je nu vertellen wat we hebben gedaan om tot deze geweldige resultaten te komen. Allereerst: zorg dat je genoeg advertentiemateriaal hebt. Het is al langer bekend dat het activeren van méér dan 1 advertentie véél beter werkt. Je CTR schiet werkelijk waar omhoog als je meerdere advertenties aanzet. Dat moet je dus echt ten alle tijden doen. Als tweede: als je ziet dat je CTR stijgt, kun je voorzichtig je CPC verlagen. Tip: houd je nooit aan het geautomatiseerde bod van LinkedIn. Ga zélf je CPC bepalen, en kijk hoe laag je kunt bieden om genoeg verkeer te realiseren. Als je tevreden bent met je CPC én je CTR blijft netjes boven het gemiddelde, kun je overgaan op bieden op basis van CPM. De juiste biedstrategie is stap één voor een succesvolle LinkedIn campagne. Er is natuurlijk veel meer nodig om een succesvolle campagne in te richten, zoals de allerbeste targeting, en voldoende creatief materiaal. In this video, I'm going to show you what counts toward the limit and what doesn't count toward it. Then I'll show you how to hack LinkedIn search limits (and browsing limits)! Check out our virtual group classes and personalized, one-on-one training programs! 🤍 ❤️ Connect with us: 🤍 🤍 🤍 CONTENT: WHAT COUNTS TOWARD THE LIMIT LinkedIn won’t say what the limit is, but it does say it’s calculated based on how much searching of profiles you do and how many people’s profiles you open, especially those outside your first-degree network. Here’s what specifically counts toward it: 1. Searches you do on LinkedIn.com and the LinkedIn mobile app using keywords and filters. Like here, I’m searching for chemical engineers in the Greater Philadelphia region. 2. Browsing profiles when you’re on a company page, like here 3. Browsing profiles shown in the People Also Viewed section. 4. It’s also possible that if you’re running LinkedIn searches through third-party apps, they’re viewing accounts in the background and might also cause you to hit the limit. WHAT DOESN’T COUNT TOWARD THE LIMIT 1. Browsing profiles in “People you may know” just below People Also Viewed, like here 2. Browsing your first-degree connections if it’s through the connections page. So if you click on My Network and then Connections on the next page, you’re fine. 3. Typing in someone’s name directly into the search bar 4. Also, you can search for as many jobs as you want in LinkedIn, like here HACK: GOOGLE The first hack is to access LinkedIn search through Google. This works if you’re looking for people with a particular title who work at a particular company. Just type: “title – company” LinkedIn Then once you find a person who interests you, click on the link, and technically you didn’t do any browsing on LinkedIn. HACK: RIGHT-CLICK TRICK But now let’s say you don’t know which company you want, or you need to do a different type of search. So this next hack helps you get partially around the limit. Do a regular search on LinkedIn, but then, instead of left clicking on the person’s name here, do a right click and open a link in a new tab. So now you’re not browsing profiles from your search. Or if you want, once you see who you want, just open a new tab and type in their name in the search bar, although that works better if they have an unusual name that’s easy to find. If they have a common name, you’ll want to also add what company they work for so you can narrow it down. For instance, my brother-in-law in Bill Smith. If I weren’t connected to him on LinkedIn but wanted to make sure I found him, I’d type in Bill Smith New Castle County Board of Realtors. HACK: TOPICS BY HASHTAGS Let’s say you want to search for people who are interested in a particular topic, perhaps because they work in that field. What shouldn’t count toward the limit is browsing profiles of people who comment on posts or react to posts about that topic. You can search for posts by hashtags in this case. HACK: SEARCH URL In this case, you’re minimizing how many search pages you open up from the initial search page. So start your initial search. Once the results show, look at the page’s URL. At the very end of the URL, where there's a word in all camps, add the following: &page=X (X= page number you want to reach/search) If I want to look at page 2 I would write the following: &page=2 POWER TIP! Remember that when you’re doing all these searches for all new people, don’t forget about the people you’re already connected to. Now what you will want to do is message each of these people individually or connect with them and always start with something like, I saw you were checking out my profile and I’d love to know how I can be of service. You will be shocked at how high the response rate will be and you’ll easily add an additional 4-5 closes a week depending on your traffic to your page.
