Start learning cybersecurity with CBT Nuggets. 🤍 In this video, CBT Nuggets trainer Trevor Sullivan covers deploying InfluxDB using Docker containers. Buckets and fieldsets might be some of the preliminary essentials to using InfluxDB, but spinning up InfluxDB and using it requires that you actually have to deploy it. In this video, Trevor shows you first-hand how to access InfluxDB and get started. Watch and he'll bring you through the steps for preparing your deployment. Trevor shows you first-hand how to access the cloud-based version of InfluxDB. Using InfluxDB Cloud 2.0 means you don't have to worry about running infrastructure, creating virtual machines, exposing ports or installing software. This video is an update to the already online video about the manual installation of a docker environment on a Raspberry Pi 3B+. The docker environment was configured to use microservices and some containers were activated. The containers were: - MQTT - Node-RED - Influx DB (incl. Telegraf) - Grafana In this update video we edit the identical process, only automated by a very good script, provided by gcgarner. This script makes it possible for almost anyone with a Raspberry Pi and some Linux knowledge to implement an IoT environment in Docker on the Raspberry Pi. This video does not include the preparation of the required SD card and operating system. We start here with a Raspberry Pi started for the first time. In this video we start with the general settings in the Raspberry Pi operating system, such as expanding the memory area on the SD card, changing the password and hostname, adjusting the memory and updating the system. In the next step we prepare the Raspberry Pi to work with the script from gcgarner. Which we will do after the preparations and configure the IoT stack. After configuration and deployment we start the Docker container and check the state of the services. Here are a few links to get you started.... 🤍 🤍 🤍 (0:00) Intro (1:42) First things first, lets install InfluxDB in Docker. sudo vi docker-compose.yaml (make sure you add a volume in the docker volumes section for influxdb_data) influxdb: container_name: influxdb restart: always ports: - 8086:8086 volumes: - influxdb_data:/var/lib/influxdb image: influxdb Once that is done, save it and then.... sudo docker-compose up -d then you can jump over to portainer to check and make sure everything installed correctly. (3:56) Now we are ready to create the database in influxdb for home assistant. sudo docker exec -it influxdb /bin/bash influx CREATE DATABASE home_assistant Once that is done, you can exit out of influx and the docker container. (5:00) Let's add the influxdb component into Home Assistant. sudo vi configuration.yaml influxdb: host: 10.10.10.28 include: domains: - sensor Once thats in there, save it and jump over to the web interface to do a check config and restart Home Assistant. (6:16) Lastly, let's just check our influxdb database and make sure its pulling in the Home Assistant data. sudo docker exec -it influxdb /bin/bash influx USE home_assistant SHOW SERIES At this point you should see lots of sensor data from home assistant. InfluxDB is an open source time series platform. This includes APIs for storing and querying data, processing it in the background for ETL or monitoring and alerting purposes, user dashboards, and visualizing and exploring the data and more. The master branch on this repo now represents the latest InfluxDB, which now includes functionality for Kapacitor (background processing) and Chronograf (the UI) all in a single binary. Flux is a lightweight scripting language for querying databases (like InfluxDB) and working with data. It is part of InfluxDB 1.7 and 2.0, but can be run independently of those. This repository contains the language definition and an implementation of the language core. 🕰 Timeline 00:00 - Holding 00:45 - Introductions 08:00 - Installing InfluxDB 2 09:30 - Configuring InfluxDB 2 15:40 - InfluxDB vocbabulary 18:15 - Exploring metrics 44:20 - Dashboards 50:00 - Tasks and downsampling 54:00 - Alerting 🌎 Resources 🤍rawkode | David McKay - 🤍 InfluxDB - 🤍

Grafana, InfluxDB, and Node-Red on a Raspberry Pi form a dream team for visualization of IOT data. The setup is not easy, but this is what we will do together. Today - We will install everything necessary on a Raspberry Pi using Peter Scargill's newest script - We will compare time-series databases like InfluxDB with SQL databases and see their advantages for IOT - We will create an influxDB database and connect it to a Node-Red flow to read data of my weather station - We will create a Grafana data source to get access to the InfluxDB database - We will develop a dashboard with several panels showing the different weather data - We will see the power of a time-series database combined with Grafana - And in the end, you can download a ready-made SD card for your Raspberry Links: SD card image with Node-Red, InfluxDB, Grafana: 🤍 Node-REd example Flow: 🤍 Peter's Script: 🤍 Raspbian installation: 🤍 Grafana videos: 🤍 Samsung SD cards: 🤍 Raspberry Pi 3+: 🤍 #NodeRed, #InfluxDB, #Grafana, #RaspberryPi Supporting Material and Blog Page: 🤍 Github: 🤍 My Patreon Page: 🤍 Alternative: 🤍 My Bitcoin address: 19FSmqbBzb5zsYB1d8Bq4KbxVmezToDNTV If you want to support the channel, please use the links below to start your shopping.
