This video is an update to the already online video about the manual installation of a docker environment on a Raspberry Pi 3B+. The docker environment was configured to use microservices and some containers were activated. The containers were: - MQTT - Node-RED - Influx DB (incl. Telegraf) - Grafana In this update video we edit the identical process, only automated by a very good script, provided by gcgarner. This script makes it possible for almost anyone with a Raspberry Pi and some Linux knowledge to implement an IoT environment in Docker on the Raspberry Pi. This video does not include the preparation of the required SD card and operating system. We start here with a Raspberry Pi started for the first time. In this video we start with the general settings in the Raspberry Pi operating system, such as expanding the memory area on the SD card, changing the password and hostname, adjusting the memory and updating the system. In the next step we prepare the Raspberry Pi to work with the script from gcgarner. Which we will do after the preparations and configure the IoT stack. In order to understand some of my future videos coming, I wanted to lay the basics of InfluxDB and Flux query language. I go into how Flux 2.x differs from 1.x and also traditional SQL, what the data structure looks like and how to build simple queries in Flux. TIG stack with Docker-compose


In this video you are getting a quick run through with Telegraf InfluxDB and Grafana fired up by using a Docker-compose. We are sending some environment data from a Pycom LoPy4-sensor over MQTT. Here are a few links to get you started.... 🤍 🤍 (0:00) Intro (1:56) Start by creating local volume on the docker host.. mkdir mosquitto (2:33) Now we are ready to install mosquitto in a docker container. sudo vi docker-compose.yaml mqtt: container_name: mqtt image: eclipse-mosquitto restart: always volumes: - /home/adrian/mosquitto/config: /mosquitto/config - /home/adrian/mosquitto/data: /mosquitto/data - /home/adrian/mosquitto/log: /mosquitto/log ports: - 1883:1883 - 9001:9001 Onces thats done, save the file and... sudo docker-compose up -d Now we are ready to get the config file from eclipse-mosquitto repo... sudo git clone 🤍 eclipse-mosquitto cd eclipse-mosquitto sudo mv mosquitto.conf ../mosquitto/config Once all that is done, jump over to portainer and reboot the mqtt container. (6:22) Now we are ready to create a username and password for mosquitto. sudo docker exec -it mqtt sh mosquitto_passwd -c /mosquitto/config/pwfile hass (7:36) Lastly, we need to edit mosquitto.conf sudo vi mosquitto.conf password_file /mosquitto/config/pwfile Save it and then jump over to restart the mqtt container for the changes to take.
